Yes that's right, there was a farewell party for a Green
Astro Turf in Silver Spring tonight. There is a long story about it, but the short version is, it was put in a few years ago on a site that is going to be a Plaza,
Ice Rink, and Pavilion. Residents in the area (especially the kids) have enjoyed the turf (although I have read some think it's an eyesore) and now the work is to start on the new Plaza, Rink and Pavilion and the large open air Turf must go. So Silver Spring gave it a send off party.
