8 Hours in New York City

Kicked off the Memorial Day Weekend with a day trip to New York City with a friend.   Spent the afternoon in South Street Seaport, Soho, and Flatiron District.   There were a lot of other people spending the day in the big apple!

This is the famous "Golden Knights" the U.S. Army Parachute Team

The weather was great for the 2011 Joint Service Andrews Air Show. This was my first trip to the air show, and I was not disappointed. Tomorrow I will post some "people shots" from the Air Show. And for those of you in the DC area, the show continues tomorrow!

Cabs in Waiting @ Reagan National Airport

These cabs are in waiting around the corner from the Main Terminal (B & C) at Reagan National Airport.   Most passengers never see this!

This guy acts as a "conductor" telling the cabs when to make the turn to pick up passengers in need of  a ride

There is a lot of waiting around before they go around the corner to make the "pick up"



Bowie Baysox Game

Bowie Baysox Entrance.  They are the AA Team for the Baltimore Orioles

It was "Bark in the Park Day" where fans were encouraged to bring their dogs to the game!

Peeps on Display

Peeps are huge here in Washington DC area.  This is the second time on this blog that they have been photographed!   On display at Artisphere in Arlington thru the end of the May are some of the highlights from the 5th Annual Washington Post Peeps Diorama Contest. Blessed John Paul II

Earlier today in Rome, Pope John Paul II, became Blessed John Paul II in a Beatification ceremony in St. Peters Square.  A couple of weeks ago when I was in Baltimore, I photographed this garden to commemorate John Paul II's visit to Baltimore in 1995.
