The Mall Under Construction

Thousands of tourists are in town this week for spring break...  And this is the view they are going to get of the U.S. Capitol from The Mall.   Yes, it's under construction, and the view from many locations isn't pretty.   Guess they will have to buy more postcards with shots before the construction started.

Road Trip: Philadephia's Magic Gardens

South Street in Philadelphia may be known to most people for it's multiple places to get a good cheese steak,  but for anyone who has driven up and down South Street, they probably have seen many buildings with mosaic art work on the side.   And it's a good chance it's by Philadelphia mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar.   On Saturday I visited his mosaic gardens which is described by Wikipeadia as "an indoor/outdoor maze of mosaics inlaid with various pieces of poetry."

Bethesda Cherry Blossom's

While the thousands of people are heading down to the Tidal Basin this week to check out the Cherry Blossom trees, I headed in the other direction Bethesda Tuesday night to check out Kenwood Neighborhood (off of Little River Turnpike) which has 1,200 cherry trees.

Capitol Hill Spring

The Supreme Court and US Capitol on Saturday... It always looks so much better when everything around it starts blooming!

Beautiful Day @ Meadowlark Botanic Gardens

My favorite season for photography is here!  The flowers are blooming and the weather is awesome to get outside and explore.   Today I went to Meadowlark Botanic Gardens in Vienna, VA.    It's not far from Wolf Trap.   It's a great place to "escape" for a few hours!

Alexandria St. Patrick's Day Parade

St. Patrick's Day may still be two weeks away, but the city of Alexandria celebrated it early today with their annual Parade.   And they had the luck of Irish with the weather, the early morning rain cleared out to blue skies by the end of the parade!
