McCrillis Gardens, Bethsda MD
So if you live in DC, and you were in town yesterday, you know what an amazing weather day it was. And I felt inspired to check out somewhere new, and I visited another place from the recent "Washingtonian Magazine" hidden gems cover story, the McCrillis Gardens in Bethesda MD. It's run by the same people who run Brookside Gardens in Wheaton. McCrillis is a lot smaller, and less to photograph than Brookside Gardens.

Calvert Memorial Park, Riverdale MD
This park and cemetery is located in Riverdale, Maryland (a few minutes from College Park) and the park includes a small Calvert family cemetery. Charles Benedict Calvert was a major figure in the establishment of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Maryland Agricultural College (now the U. of MD.).

Museum of the Shenandoah Valley
The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, VA is one of the "61 Hidden Gems" in this months Washingtonian magazine. The first photograph in this posting was the cover photograph of the magazine. I like their photograph much better! For more info on the many things to see at this museum, house, and gardens check out their website http://www.shenandoahmuseum.org/index.php

Happy Easter & Passover, and Enjoy the Nice Weather!
Yesterday, I wanted to stay inside and watch the Masters on TV... However the beautiful weather and desire to go out and shoot something was stronger. I ended up at take photos at the corner of East West Highway and Beach Drive in Chevy Chase, Md. And this isn't the best stuff. On Tuesday, I will show what I found under the East West Highway bridge. Happy Easter and Passover!

Shadow on the Mall
When I was out yesterday on The Mall, I grab this cool shot of my shadow! On Monday, I will post pictures from the video being shown on the front of the Hirshhorn Museum at night! If you haven't gone yet, it's worth the 30 minutes. If you want to take photographs, it's best to got right at sunset. If you're just viewing it, wait until it's completely dark!

The Mall Under Construction
Thousands of tourists are in town this week for spring break... And this is the view they are going to get of the U.S. Capitol from The Mall. Yes, it's under construction, and the view from many locations isn't pretty. Guess they will have to buy more postcards with shots before the construction started.

Road Trip: Philadephia's Magic Gardens
South Street in Philadelphia may be known to most people for it's multiple places to get a good cheese steak, but for anyone who has driven up and down South Street, they probably have seen many buildings with mosaic art work on the side. And it's a good chance it's by Philadelphia mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar. On Saturday I visited his mosaic gardens which is described by Wikipeadia as "an indoor/outdoor maze of mosaics inlaid with various pieces of poetry."
