Finally Spring Like Weather! DC Sunday Afternoon

Finally had some warm temps today, which made for a good day to check out the sights downtown.   The cherry blossom's haven't bloomed yet at the Tidal Basin, but as you can see from above that didn't stop the masses from hanging out on the Jefferson Memorial steps and walking around the basin.   The best trees for photos (above) were near the Starbucks at 7th and Penn NW.

Outdoor Sculptures at The Kreeger Museum, Washington DC

The Kreeger Museum is one of those Washington DC "out of the way" museums but worth trip, located on Foxhall Road down the road from American University in Upper Northwest DC.   You need a reservation Tuesday thru Thursday, but Friday & Saturday you can just show up,  pay your 10 dollars and see these very cool former house of the late David Kreeger and his wife Carmen, who were major patrons of the arts in Washington DC.    The house was designed by famed architect Phillip Johnson.    The photographs are of  the outdoor sculptures and public art exhibits including one on a decaying tennis court.

"Off the Beaten Path" San Juan PR

Yesterday after I visited Santa MarĂa Magdalena de Pazzis Cemetery I took a walk down a road that if I had to guess, most tourists don't venture down.    I was rewarded with some really cool photographs.   The road is Calle San Miguel if you want to check out the road next time your in San Juan.

El Yunque Rain Forest, Puerto Rico

About 45 minutes from San Juan, is the El Yunque Rain Forest.   There a number of bus tours that pick you up and return you to where you staying in San Juan.   The stops included a waterfall (see above) a tower with a amazing views of Puerto Rico, and hike around the forest in a number of paved and some unpaved hiking paths.  Ironically,  it was no raining in the rain forest when I visited there yesterday.  That rain waited until I was on the beaches of San Juan!
