Holiday Destination? Public Art in Silver Spring

Washington DC artist Julia Vogl created a public art work that is taking the place this year of the Christmas tree in downtown Silver Spring.   The structure is created out of recycled bottles, and each colored bottle represents where the community member plans to spend the holidays.   Red bottled means the person is going to be somewhere hot.   Blue bottled means a cold destination. Yellow represents the person is staying home.  Green says the person is going somewhere "exotic" and Silver indicates wherever the winter may take that person.
