Marine Corp Museum, Triangle VA

Statue dedicated to the war reporters

This is beautiful glass window behind the altar at the Semper Fidelis Memorial Chapel.

Officially called "The National Museum of the Marine Corps and Heritage Center" it has been open since November 2006.   Enjoying a couple stayvaction days in the DC area, I decided to take the drive down to Prince William County and finally check out the museum and it's grounds.  I wasn't expecting all the things to see and photograph outside the Museum.

A Walk on The High Line, New York City

Spent eight hours in New York City on Saturday, and a couple hours on The High Line, which now goes up past 30th Street.   In addition to the new section, there is so much to see (and photograph) while walking on the High Line.   The High Line has in the past couple of years become one of my favorite spots to visit in New York!  If you haven't been you should check it out..  Here's there web site for more info: http://www.thehighline.org/

Black-Eyed Susan Field in Silver Spring

Off of Fenton Road near East-West Highway in Silver Spring.  UPDATE: I am told these plants are not "mini Sunflowers"  as I originally thought, they are called Black-eyed Susan.   My apologies plant experts who knew that!
