Christmas in July @ Phillies-Rockies Game

Sunday I was in Philadelphia, and went to Citizen Bank Field to watch the Phillies take on the Colorado Rockies. The theme of the game was Christmas in July (being it was July 25th)

There was no snow, but lots of heavy wind and rain which resulted in a long rain delay. However I had enough pictures and voted with my two friends to leave the game during the delay!

Waterbury, Connecticut

Waterbury is Connecticut's 5th largest city and is located on the Naugatuck River. Its nickname is the "Brass City" because in the first half of the 20th century Waterbury was the countries leading manufacture of brassware. In addition to brass, Waterbury was also was noted for its manufacture of watches, clocks, and buttons. Today most of the factories and mills are closed (one was coverted into large shopping mall) however they are trying to remake themselves with a lot of retail and a branch of University of Connecticut which opened in 2003. The city, which dates back to the the late 1600's, has a lot of old and historic buildings and was a nice place to spend a few hours as my Connecticut vacation draws to a close.

This was taken inside the Mattatuck Museum on West Main Street in Waterbury
