"The Worst Commute Since 9/11"

Friday, the Federal Government re-opened after being shut for four straight days (after the two Blizzards) and a lot of DC area drivers spent a lot of time behind the wheel. A AAA spokesperson said it was probably the worst commute since 9/11. This photo I took while driving across the Key Bridge (from VA into DC). For the record it took me about and hour and half to get home (normal trip around 50 mins).

Blizzard 2010

The Blizzard of 2010 is over, and the dig out began today! The DC area saw anywhere between 20 and 40 inches of snow over 30 hour period. And guess what? More snow is on the way for Tuesday Night. Here are some photos from today (Sunday) and yesterday.

This guy is crazy, biking in shorts sleeves??

This is snow piled up in front of my apartment building. The sidewalks were in great condition!!!

This is during the storm from the 9th of floor of the hotel I was staying at (for work) in Rosslyn, VA.

On Wilson Blvd in Rosslyn during the storm...

Skiis were the best way to get around during the storm!

The Winter of our Discontent

Another snowstorm overnight (Tuesday Night into Wednesday Morning) and the walk to the metro station was like walking in a winter wonderland. Friday/Saturday another storm is expected for the DC area, where I am told we will be measuring the snow in feet not inches!

Pre Sunrise Sky from My Apartment

Update 9:16 pm: that light snow has now been falling for a couple of hours and we are expecting 3 to 6 inches before Wednesday's sunrise! got to love this winter.

More light snow is in the forecast for tonight for Washington DC area, but this morning (Tuesday) what an amazing pre-sunrise sky taken from my apartment.
