A Rain Free Sunday In Great Falls, MD

After three straight days of a cold miserable rain, Sunday the rained stopped which meant I was finally was able to go out and shoot for class. I tried shooting in the rain on Saturday, but got no unique pictures. Today I headed west to Great Falls, Maryland and was happy I made the trip. You can take a boat ride along the C & O Canal for five dollars.

This fox stopped the traffic on C & O Canal for a few minutes. I kept my distance from the fox, but was excited to be able to photograph him or her.

Sunday @ the Cemetery

On Sunday, for photography class, I visited Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Northeast D.C. It's located across from the US Arboretum and like Rock Creek Cemetery (see previous posts), Mt. Olivet was filled with cool grave stones to photograph. Here's a sample..

Holiday Weekend Photos

I took Columbus Day off, so I am enjoying a three day weekend here in the Washington DC area. On Saturday, I went up to Baltimore with a friend from work to root on a another friend from work who was running a half marathon. On Sunday, I spent the day up in Eastern Market in DC and visited a old cemetery (those photos I will post tomorrow).

It's not everyday you see well dressed men crossing a street with a piano. Apparently this was a music act I missed.

This is the "Emmanicaption Statue" in Lincoln Park, a few blocks from Eastern Market in Northeast DC.

This was my favorite race photo...

A really good Bluegrass Band playing Sunday afternoon next to Eastern Market.

Another race photo. My co-worker is in the middle.

Shooting for Class

I'm three weeks into my photography program, and this weekend I spent a lot of time shooting for class. One of the assignments was shooting "macro" or "close-up" photographs using a few newly purchased filters. The weather was great for shooting, and I got a couple decent photographs.
