More photos from Tilghman Island MD

This was the sun setting in the distance, captured via my zoom lens. I thought the color was very cool.

This draw bridge went up and down three times in about and hour.

Lots of sea gulls flying around at dusk.

Tomorrow I will post some pictures from St. Michaels.

Tilghman Island, Maryland

With summer like weather in April, it was the perfect day to hit the road. The destination was Tilghman Island and St. Michaels on the Maryland Eastern Shore. This small island, is surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay.

I love this shot of an end of the fishing rod pointing downward, the same direction of the sun.

This is my friend Scott (who also was the driver) who I accompanied on his trip to the Eastern Shore!

Doesn't get much better than this? Drinking and watching the sun set on the Cheaspeake Bay! And don't forget it's only April!

More photo's tomorrow from Tilghman Island and St. Michaels.

Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas

The hotel I was most looking forward to seeing while in Vegas was the Wynn Hotel. The last time I was in Vegas (2004) it was under construction, and five years later it has become one of the most popular and glamorous hotel/casino on the Strip. It's the latest hotel of Connecticut native Steve Wynn.

The Bellagio has the fountains, the Wynn has a indoor lights show in the "Lake of Dreams"

More from Vegas Trip

If you have never been to Las Vegas, there is one thing you might not know. The hotels/casino's are the main attraction. Sure there is shopping, hiking, helicopter tours, etc., but everyone talks about the hotels. This art work is on the ceiling inside the Bellagio Hotel lobby.

This is a statue also inside the hotel.

This is I thought was a cool shot of a reflection from a building under construction on the Strip.

Another shot inside the Bellagio Hotel lobby.

Tomorrow Night I will post the final posting from my Vegas Trip. It will be shots from inside the Wynn hotel which opened in 2005.

Las Vegas

Just back from three nights in Las Vegas. On Monday, it was sunny and 91 degrees! That was the warmest day of the year so far! This photo is of the Paris hotel looking from behind the Bellagio's lake and fountains.

This was one of the famous fountain show in front of the Bellagio Hotel.

Take a look at this scary passenger riding up and down The Strip.

This is an "only in Sin City" photograph. The man was with another two guys who will urging people to avoid sin in front to pedestrians on the Strip.

I thought this was a promising sight that even though Las Vegas has been hit very hard by our current recession, they are still building new hotels. I was told later by a taxi driver that some construction sites have been forced to stop in mid-construction due to the economy.

Most photo's in the days ahead, including photo's from the Wynn hotel!

The Signs @ Lincoln Memorial

This past weekend when I was at the Lincoln Memorial, I was surprised by how many signs there were, saying don't do this or please do this or watch out for this. So I decided to photograph the signs of the Lincoln Memorial. This first one no one was obeying or enforcing

This sign was on the spot where Dr. Martin Luther King gave his famous "I have a Dream" speech

This sign lets everyone know there is no climbing on Abe or his big chair

This one was my favorite. There was no one breaking this law while I was there Saturday Night.

DC Monuments at Night

After the fireworks, I played tourist and took in some of the major monuments in downtown Washington DC. Tomorrow night I will post some interesting signs I found at the Lincoln Memorial.

This was taken at the WWII Memorial looking towards the Washington Monument.

DC Fireworks... And it's not the 4th of July

The Cherry Blossom Festival ends this weekend.. And down on the waterfront Saturday Night they had a fireworks show. I shot these photograph's from the Tidal Basin, about 10 blocks away from where they were launching the fireworks. I had hoped they would go over the Jefferson Memorial, but they were to low and to far away.
